HUNTINGTON – Tippecanoe Valley gave it a go, but for the second time in a week, the Vikings couldn’t crack the code in beating Maconaquah. The Vikings would finish second to the Braves at Saturday’s Three Rivers Conference Girls Golf Championships.
After losing to Maconaquah by a half dozen Thursday in a head-to-head matchup, Valley wasn’t nearly as close in shooting a 364, a full 26 strokes behind the champion Maconaquah side.
Valley had Lily Ault shoot an 88 to finish tied for seventh and Kaydence Mellott post an 89 for a tie in ninth to lead the Vikings. Madelyn Weaver had a 93 and Molly Moriarty a 94 to give Valley its four scorers.
Maconaquah had Daisy Williams win the tournament with an 80, two better than teammate and runner-up Ava Snyder. Kianna Sharp was tied for fourth at 85 and Miranda Stoll had a 91 to round out the championship scores.
Northfield was third at 375, ten better than Peru in fourth and 19 better than Rochester in fifth. Wabash (403), Whitko (422), North Miami (429) and Manchester (439) rounded out the team scoring.
