YMCA Honoring First Responders As Sept. 11 Nears
News Release
WARSAW – Kosciusko Community YMCA will honor the memory of those who died 20 years ago in the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks with two unique events this week.
The YMCA issued a news release saying the organization will offer free use of its facilities in Warsaw and North Webster to military and first responders for one week beginning Tuesday, Sept. 7. The offer continues through Sept. 14.
They will also be hosting a stair climb fundraiser for the Indiana Burn Center on Saturday, Sept.11.
Surrounding fire departments will use the climb mills to climb 110 flights of stairs – the same number of stairs first responders walked up at the World Trade Center. During this event, donations will be collected for the Indiana Burn Center.
The Stair Climb is from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. The public is welcome to come and see the fireman doing the stair climb and make a donation to the Indiana Burn Center.
