WARSAW — An alcoholic beverage permit renewal for a Pierceton business was approved during a Kosciusko County Alcohol and Tobacco Commission meeting on Thursday, Sept. 2.

Christopher Geiger, the general manager for Pierceton Discount Liquors, 101 S. First St., was at the meeting regarding a violation. During the board’s August meeting, Geiger said a former employee was cited for selling alcohol to a minor. At that time, the business had not paid a fine for the violation, leading to the renewal’s continuance.

Geiger said the business has paid a $1,500 fine. The board approved the permit renewal.

The following permits were also renewed:

• B&E Holding LLC, doing business as Viking Liquor, 112 W. Main St., Mentone. Beer, wine and liquor – package store.
• Dolgencorp LLC, doing business as Dollar General Store #16323, 221 W. School St., Leesburg. Beer and wine dealer – grocery store.
• Gurleen Petroleum Inc., 10010 N. Turkey Creek Road, Syracuse. Beer and wine dealer – grocery store.
• TL Overmyer LLC, doing business as Double Shot Liquor, 104 E. State St., Etna Green. Beer, wine and liquor – package store.

The local ATC board’s next meeting will be held at the Kosciusko County Courthouse at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7.
