WARSAW — Indiana Congresswoman Jackie Walorski is reiterating her opposition to mask mandates as more schools in her district embrace the policy as the pandemic continues.

Second District Rep. Walorski made her feelings clear on a Facebook post this morning attached to an article about Elkhart School Corp.
“I strongly oppose the mask mandates for children in schools,” she wrote. “The science simply does not support this and many overseas, including the U.K. and France, see the silliness in young children wearing masks.”
The Elkhart Truth reported Tuesday that facial masks will be required for all students, staff and visitors inside the school buildings at Elkhart Community Schools beginning Thursday.
That comes after a 4-3 vote by the school board on Tuesday night to revise an earlier decision making masks optional, the Truth reported.
Numerous other school districts have recently switched to require masks.
Gov. Eric Holcomb recently expressed support for school districts making such moves.
