Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 11:22 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 29, Country Club Road, Warsaw. Drivers: Steven A. Lozier, 68, Country Club Road, Warsaw, and Jazspen N. Stewart, 20, Country Club Road, Warsaw. Lozier’s vehicle crossed the center line and struck Stewart’s vehicle. Lozier and Stewart were checked by medics at the scene. Damage up to $10,000.
- 8:33 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 29, West CR 600N, Warsaw. Driver: Quinten D. Stamper, 31, Murphy Lane, Warsaw. Stamper’s vehicle struck a deer. Damage up to $5,000.
- 10:49 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, Packerton Road, Claypool. Driver: Logan M. Dolbee, 16, Wayne Street, North Manchester. Dolbee’s vehicle hit a bump in the road and struck a guardrail. Dolbee had injuries to his forehead. A passenger in the vehicle, Megan Licata, 19, South CR 950W, South Whitley, was taken to the hospital for treatment of pain in multiple places. Damage up to $10,000.
- 10:51 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, SR 15, Warsaw. Drivers: Brendan M. Caudill, 17, Levi Lee Road, Warsaw, and Pamela S. Schuler, 60, Huntington Street, North Webster. Caudill’s vehicle pulled into the path of Schuler’s vehicle. Schuler complained of chest and leg pain, but both drivers refused EMS transport. Damage up to $10,000.
- 5:39 p.m. Friday, Aug. 27, SR 15, Milford. Drivers: Patsy L. Kline, 71, SR 19, Etna Green, and Sandra Calderon, 24, Sophie Lane, Warsaw. Kline’s vehicle pulled into the path of Calderon’s vehicle. Kline was taken by Lutheran EMS to Kosciusko Community Hospital with complaint of chest pain. Damage up to $50,000.
- 3:28 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 26, US 30, Etna Green. Drivers: Noel C. Williams, 64, Lapaz, and Salgado Rufino, 51, Millard Avenue, Chicago, Ill. Williams’ vehicle rear-ended Rufino’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
- 12:46 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 26, South CR 1000W, Warsaw. Drivers: Kevin Smith, 69, Harbor Isles Drive, North Port, Fla., and Cody E. Hudson, 30, East CR 200N, Akron. Smith disregarded a stop sign and collided with Hudson’s vehicle. Damage up to $50,000.
- 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 25, North CR 800W, south of West CR 400N, Warsaw. Driver: Thadeus L. Hammel, 21, Glad Street, Warsaw. Hammel’s vehicle left the roadway and rolled, coming to rest on its top. Hammel complained of arm pain. Damage up to $10,000.
Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:
- 7:40 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 29, Huntington Street, Syracuse. Driver: Marilou E. Ater, 53, Grandview Drive, Syracuse. Ater was backing into a parking space when she hit the gas instead of the brake, resulting in the vehicle striking a building, causing major damage to both the inside and outside of the building. Damage up to $100,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- 9:57 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, Center Street and Cleveland Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Juan J. Vela Celimundo, 26, Philippa Street, South Bend, and Ronald L. Erb, 72, Wade Lane, North Webster. Vela Celimundo’s vehicle rear-ended Erb’s vehicle. Damage up to $25,000.
- 9:49 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, Smith Street, Warsaw. Driver: Luis Montemayor Lugo, 31, Gaywood Drive, Fort Wayne. Lugo’s vehicle was damaged while parked at the fairgrounds. Damage up to $2,500.
- 9:18 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, Smith Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Fridman Perez Salas, 17, West Park, Huntington, and Eduardo Perez, 53, Pear Road, South Bend. Perez Salas’ vehicle struck a parked, unoccupied vehicle and then sideswiped Perez’s vehicle. Perez Salas’ vehicle was towed based on an OWI investigation and not having insurance. Damage up to $25,000.
- 4:15 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, Winona Avenue and Maple Avenue, Warsaw. Drivers: Anita J. Kline, 54, West CR 300N, Monterey, Tadd L. Burch, 34, Wellington Drive, Warsaw, and Jessenia Galvan-Montoya, 20, North CR 080E, Lagrange. Kline’s vehicle pulled into the path of Burch’s vehicle, resulting in a collision. Kline’s vehicle then rolled and struck Galvan-Montoya’s vehicle, which had been stopped at a stop sign at the intersection. Kline was taken to the hospital for treatment of lacerations to her arms and legs. All subjects in Burch’s vehicle refused medical treatment. Damage up to $10,000.
- 3:02 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, Colfax Street, north of Jefferson Street, Warsaw. A parked, unoccupied vehicle was struck. Damage up to $2,500.
- 9:07 p.m. Friday, Aug. 27, 700 block Center Street, Warsaw. Faron E. Erwin reported theft of a bicycle valued at $100.
- 4:47 p.m. Friday, Aug. 27, Argonne Road, north of Winona Avenue, Warsaw. Driver: Isaac Nyame, 60, Wells Drive, Parlin, N.J. Nyame’s truck struck the viaduct and became lodged there. Damage up to $100,000.
- 12:26 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 26, Walter Way, Warsaw. A parked, unoccupied vehicle was struck by another vehicle. Damage up to $750.
