WL Councilman Jim Zachary, 39, Passes Away

WINONA LAKE — Winona Lake Councilman Jim Zachary has passed away. He was 39.
According to his obituary from McHatton-Sadler Funeral Home of Warsaw, he died at 9:56 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17, at Kosciusko Community Hospital.
Zachary served Ward 1 of the town, having been elected in 2019 to the position.
Commenting to InkFreeNews on Wednesday, Town Council President Rick Swaim called Zachary a “very valued member” of the council. He noted his financial expertise.
Zachary had owned Port Winona in The Village at Winona. He also worked as an engineering tech for Zimmer Biomet.
“He’ll be missed,” said Swaim.
Zachary’s funeral service is noon Saturday, Aug. 21, at McHatton Sadler of Warsaw. Visitation is 10 a.m. to the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home.
