SYRACUSE — On Aug. 15, The Michiana Chapter of Delta Waterfowl Foundation donated roughly $4,500 in water pumping equipment to the Tri-County Fish and Wildlife Area and Indiana Department of Natural Resources. According to Dericke Lavoine, Tri-County property manager, the equipment will enable “more options to manipulate water and provide waterfowl habitat and waterfowl hunting opportunities.”
In addition to a Higdon Warthog pump capable of pumping 850 gallons of water per minute, Delta also donated all necessary tubing, an auxiliary fuel tank — allowing up to 15 hours of pumping — and two wood duck boxes.
Delta Chapter President Tommy Vaughn commented the donation is “hopefully the first of more to come in the future.”
Headquartered in Bismark, N.D., Delta Waterfowl delivers science-based duck production programs, habitat conservation, research and waterfowl hunting throughout North America.
