SYRACUSE — Neighbors saw smoke and notified Turkey Creek Fire Territory of a house fire across from 510 W. Boston St., Syracuse, around 12:35 p.m. today Monday, Aug. 2. The first officials on the scene found heavy smoke and flames coming from the home.
It wasn’t long after firefighters arrived, the sound of glass breaking and flames began erupting from the front of the home and second story. Milford Fire Department was called for manpower assistance, sending about a half dozen men.
Class A foam was added to the water to make the water wetter and be more effective in fighting the hot blaze.
No one was reported at the home when the fire broke out. While the names of the occupants are not known, the home is owned by Don and Betty Fervida.
The home and its contents are a total loss.
Firefighters remain at the scene. More details will be provided when they become available.
