SYRACUSE – Two area girls tennis stars reigned supreme in the 2021 Fast4 League.
Kiah Farrington, along with playing partner Gabriella Umbower, ran undefeated in the league to claim the overall summer title. The two incoming juniors, Farrington the No. 1 for Wawasee and Umbower the No. 1 for NorthWood, teamed up to run the table.
The two ‘Court Queens’ were 8-0 in league play, two matches clear of the ‘Dare Doubles’ combo of Holden Babb and Cooper LeCount, which were 6-2 on the season. The team of David Ousley and Kylie Fugett (‘Ace Bandages’) tied the team of Joe Harper and Dylan Neese (‘Double Trouble’) at 5-3 for a tie in third place.
The Fast4 League plays throughout June and July, geared to keep school-aged tennis players competing at a high level. The league had nine doubles teams and is in its third year under the direction of Shane Staley and the Staley Tennis Academy.
