Area Accident Reports
Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 11:34 a.m. Monday, June 28, North CR 175E and East CR 550N, Leesburg. Driver: Leon A. Oswalt, 51, EMS W25 Lane, North Webster. Oswalt said he was traveling westbound on CR 550N, Leesburg, when he started feeling ill. He told his wife he was going to slow down because he wasn’t feeling well. He doesn’t remember anything after that. His vehicle left the roadway and hit an utility pole. Oswalt was taken to the hospital to be checked out but reported no other injuries. Damage: Up to $5,000.
- 5:42 a.m. Monday, June 28, South CR 300E south of East CR 1200S, Warsaw. Driver: Nikolai M. Brubaker, 27, West Ninth Street, North Manchester. Brubaker was traveling north on South CR 300E when he hit a tree that was in the roadway. No injuries were reported in the accident. Damage up to $10,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- 4:17 p.m. Monday, June 28, 219 S. Lake St., Warsaw. Drivers: Unknown and Sarah E. Hoyt, 38, East Raintree Road, Warsaw. Hoyt said she pulled into the Little Caesars parking lot facing southbound. As she was pulling into the parking lot, she saw a man get into a gray passenger car parked behind her. When she came to a complete stop and placed her vehicle in park, she felt her vehicle shake. She got out of her vehicle and saw damage on her left rear bumper where the other vehicle had struck it. She tried to get the other driver’s attention, but he left the parking lot, going northbound on South Lake Street. Damage: Up to $1,000.
- 12:32 p.m. Monday, June 28, South Bronson Street north of East Market Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Brylie R. Libey, 18, Elm Road, Bremen, and Brent E. Rapsavage, 44, Chapman Lake Drive, Warsaw. Libey was traveling westbound on Market Street and approached the intersection of Bronson Street, Warsaw. She said she was unsure what happened. She said she was looking at her in-car mapping screen for directions to make a delivery. Rapsavage said he was traveling southbound on Bronson Street and stopped for a stop sign at the intersection of Market Street. As he went into the intersection, Libey’s vehicle also entered the intersection, and their vehicles collided. Damage: Up to $25,000.
