Rochester Man Arrested For Allegedly Molesting Two Children
Staff Report
ROCHESTER — A Rochester man was recently arrested after allegedly molesting two children.
David Francis Blacketor, 59, Rochester, is charged with two counts of child molesting, both level 4 felonies.
On April 16, 2020, a Rochester Police officer received a report of child molesting. The victim’s father said the child was molested about three years ago. According to court documents, the father said the child hadn’t told anyone what occurred until recently. The officer then requested immediate assistance from a Department of Child Services worker.
The child was then interviewed by officers and the DCS worker about what happened. In their interview with officers, the child said Blacketor inappropriately touched them. The child also said that the inappropriate touching occurred only one time.
The child also said a second child told them they had been inappropriately touched by Blacketor as well. The child said the incident had been weighing on their mind for a long time, leading them to finally “come clean” about what happened.
Officers and the DCS worker later interviewed the second child about what happened. The second child said Blacketor inappropriately touched them a lot and that Blacketor told them not to tell anyone.
Officers attempted to contact Blacketor at his home on several occasions to speak about the incidents. Blacketor also did not answer officers’ phone calls. Officers later learned that Blacketor had left the state.
Blacketor was booked in the Fulton County Jail on June 17. A no-contact order is in effect between Blacketor and the two children.
