Car Breaks In Half After Collision, Two Injured
News Release
MILFORD — A driver and his passenger were airlifted from the scene by Lutheran Air Ambulance following a crash at 5:07 a.m. today, Wednesday, June 23, at SR 15 and CR 900N, south of Milford.
Spencer Stapleton, 23, Warsaw, and Dusty Deshane, 27, Warsaw, a passenger, were flown from the scene. Stapleton was thrown from his vehicle and landed approximately 50 feet from the vehicle. Stapleton sustained critical injuries. Deshane sustained non-critical injuries.
The other driver, Nicole Jeffries, 29, Warsaw, and her two minor passengers refused treatment at the scene.
The preliminary results of the investigation indicate Stapleton was westbound on CR 900N in a 2004 Honda Accord, prior to the collision and failed to stop at SR 15, pulling into the path of Jeffries’ 2016 Chrysler Town and Country. Jeffries was traveling northbound on SR 15.
The front of Jeffries’ vehicle hit the driver’s side of the Honda, causing the vehicle to split in half.
Following the initial collision, two parked vehicles at the John Antu residence on the northwest corner were damaged. Damaged at the Antu residence was a 2014 Nissan and a 2006 Chrysler Sebring, along with a wooden fence.
Responding to the crash were members of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office, Milford Police Department, Milford Fire Department, Lutheran EMS, Turkey Creek Fire Territory, Lutheran Air Ambulance and North Webster Fire Department.
