5K Run-Walk To Happen Saturday, June 26 In Syracuse

SYRACUSE — Everyone is invited to support area youth by participating in the first ever Women of Today 5K Run-Walk. It will be held 8:30 a.m. Saturday, June 26 at the Wawasee Area Conservancy Foundation grounds, 11586 N SR 13, Syracuse. Early sign up ends at 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, June 23. Sign up at WOT5K.com.
The route of the 5K will include portions of the WACF property and the Conklin Bay Trail. All the proceeds will go back to the youth in the community in the form of book bags, scholarships, monetary funds to all area schools, library programs, after school programs and families in need.
Parking and start of race will be at WACF, about a mile south of the Syracuse sign. Adults and children are welcome to participate. The age groups are: under 9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, and more than 70. Prizes for first through third placing overall will be given, along with prizes for first and second place in each age division, men and women.
Cost for adults to participate is $30 while children under 12 will be $15. This includes a race T-shirt, bib, timing and an awesome event. Snacks and water also provided.
Race day signup and registration is from 7:30-8:15a.m and T-shirts will be provided if available. Packet pickup at WACF Friday from 4- 6 p.m. for pre-registrants.
Race time start at 8:30 a.m. for runners. Walkers will start after runners.
