WARSAW — The Kosciusko County Council has compromised on two tax abatements for Louis Dreyfus Co.
At its meeting on Thursday, June 10, at the Old Courtroom of the courthouse, council voted 4-2 to grant the Claypool company a real estate tax abatement for five years at a cap of $9 million and a personal property tax abatement for three years at a cap of $6 million. The years and dollar amounts were about half of what the company originally sought for the Claypool facility.
One member, Kathy Groninger, abstained from the vote due to a conflict of interest. The council’s vote came after a public hearing.
