Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, Armstrong Road, Warsaw. Driver: Benjamin B. Vgnassi, 42, Old SR 15, Leesburg. Vgnassi lost control of his vehicle on the wet roadway. The vehicle went off the road and struck a fiber optic utility box. Damage up to $5,000.
- 2:19 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, US 30, Warsaw. Driver: Heinz H. Schmidt, 83, West CR 1275S, Akron. Schmidt’s vehicle went over cement barriers and struck the building, a wagon and a fertilizer spreader. Schmidt was taken to Lutheran Hospital for possible medical condition. Damage up to $25,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- 10:09 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, Center Street, and North Detroit Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Jasmine S. Davis, 20, West CR 100S, Warsaw; and Charles D. Young, 77, West Seventh Street, Rochester. Davis was pulling onto Center Street and did not see Young’s vehicle. Davis’ vehicle struck the driver’s side of Young’s vehicle. Damage up to 5,000.
- 6:27 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, US 30, Warsaw. Drivers: Gustavo C. Sandoval, 43, EMS T6A Lane, Leesburg; and Stephanie K. Ault, 42, Southwood Drive, Warsaw. Sandoval’s vehicle rear-ended Ault’s vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
- 4:01 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, Argonne Road and Market Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Layton R. Cooper, 17, South CR 350E, Warsaw; and Gregory A. Mercer, 35, North CR 800E, Syracuse. Cooper’s vehicle rear-ended Mercer’s vehicle. Damage up to $1,000.
- 3:22 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, Anchorage Road and SR 15, Warsaw. Drivers: Diego M. Romero, 19, Old Road 30, Warsaw; and Cass D. Kruckeberg, 45, Lake Street, Warsaw. Romero’s vehicle slid on the wet roadway as he was making a turn and struck Kruckeberg’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
- 2:21 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, Walton Boulevard, Warsaw. Driver: Constance M. Henry, 73, Old SR 15, Warsaw. Henry’s vehicle struck a parked, unoccupied vehicle in the UPS parking lot. Damage up to $5,000.
