Panthers Stir Up All-NLC Baseball Honors

GOSHEN – It came down to the final game, but NorthWood rose past Goshen and claimed the 2021 Northern Lakes Conference baseball championship, and with it, several slots on the All-NLC list.
The Panthers, led by Coach of the Year AJ Risedorph, finished 11-3 overall and one game clear of Northridge, which landed 10-4 in the round robin. Wawasee and Warsaw tied for third at 8-6, followed by Goshen (7-7), Plymouth (6-8), Concord (4-10) and Mishawaka (2-12).
Headlining the list for NorthWood were Sergio Lira Ayala, Gage Gongwer, Isaiah Yoder, Jacob Raasch and Wriley Symons as All-NLC, and Logan Balasa and Kyle Sellers as Honorable Mention.
Wawasee had Kam Salazar, Grant Brooks and Parker Young as All-NLC, and Ty Brooks and Colt Dolsen as Honorable Mention.
Warsaw had Joey Springer, Alex Light and Drew McCleary as All-NLC, and Aaron Greene and Sam Justice as Honorable Mention.
Wrapping up All-NLC selections were Andrew Graber, Gavin Collins and Carter Gilbert of Northridge; Reece Fisher, Thomas Castillo and Colin Turner of Goshen; Matt Dobuck and Ivan Winkle of Plymouth; Dalton Swinehart and Kaden Kaine of Concord; and Maddux Yohe of Mishawaka.
Honorable Mentions also went to Clint Walker and Cam Waters of Northridge; Noah Alford of Goshen; Cam Shively of Plymouth; Zach Pedzinski of Concord; and Milan Burris of Mishawaka.
