Tigers Land Another Title Trophy

PLYMOUTH – Warsaw boys golf has been making a habit of collecting trophies of late. On the course of the IHSAA regional, Swan Lake, Warsaw posted one of its top showings of the season in claiming team honors in the Warsaw Invite.
The Tigers hung a 304 on the board to storm the championship, a impressive 19 shots better than runner-up Fort Wayne Carroll, which came into the weekend ranked No. 3 in the state.
The No. 16 Tigers likely will move up the rankings after its round that had Ben Brander shoot a 73 and Cal Hoskins add a 74 to lead the hosts. The Tigers were coming in after playing to a runner-up spot at Monday’s Bob Turner Classic and winning the Northern Lakes Conference tournament last Saturday.
NorthWood finished third with a 341, Triton was seventh at 354 and Wawasee was 12th at 382 in the 14-team field loaded with Northern Lakes Conference and regional level teams. Jon Cripe had a 79 and Cooper Wiens an 85 to pace the Panthers. Scores for the Trojans and Warriors were not immediately reported.
