WARSAW — Minor injuries were reported in a T-bone accident on SR 15 Wednesday night.
At 8:40 p.m. Wednesday, May 26, the Warsaw Police Department responded to a report of a two-vehicle accident at North SR 15, near Anchorage Road, Warsaw.
Cory A. Young, 41, Goshen, was driving a black 2021 Nissan Rogue and was traveling east while crossing North SR 15 onto Anchorage Road. Young said his traffic light was yellow when he entered the intersection and a light 2008 Kia Spectra hit his vehicle, causing his vehicle to roll over a guardrail.
Silca E. Munoz, 36, Warsaw, was operating the Kia Spectra. She said she was traveling north on SR 15 when her traffic signal turned green and she entered the intersection.
A witness who was behind Munoz’s vehicle had a dash cam that recorded the incident. In the video, officers saw the traffic signal for Munoz’s vehicle turn green and after several seconds, Young’s vehicle entered the intersection.
Young was checked by medics at the scene for a minor elbow and lower arm injury but was released from the scene. He went to a local hospital on his own for treatment.
Munoz and a passenger in her vehicle, Dylan Mora, 10, Warsaw, both complained of chest pain and were checked by medics. Mora was released from the scene. Munoz was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
Damages are estimated at up to $25,000.
Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory and Lutheran EMS assisted at the scene.
