Warsaw Softball 3, Tippecanoe Valley 2
Tori Tackett had the big hit Friday night to help the Tigers to a home win.
Tackett had a two-out, two-run single in the bottom of the sixth to move Warsaw ahead to stay.
Tippecanoe would get the tying runner to third in the seventh, but Tackett got a grounder to herself for the final out.
Lindsey Bradley also had an RBI for the Tigers (17-7), and Tackett picked up her 12th pitching win of the season, striking out 11.
Valley plated its two in the fourth on RBI singles from Abby Bowers and Kayleena Agnew. Brittany Benn had two hits and a run scored for the Vikings (12-14). Corinna Stiles struck out six in her complete game in the circle for the visitors.
Of note from the contest, the Warsaw softball program donated all gate receipts from the game to the family of Brendyn Stump.
Bremen Softball 11, Wawasee 5
Wawasee (4-21-1) couldn’t catch the perennial state contender Bremen Lions Friday evening in Syracuse.
Kiaundra Olson and Haylee Allen combined to strike out eight Lions, but the offense couldn’t match Bremen’s bats. Olson and Kathryn Flannery each had two hits. Allen, Ari Garcia and Jaci Worrell each also had a hit.
Wawasee Baseball 15, Churubusco 0
Wawasee cruised to a big win Friday night against the Eagles.
Kam Salazar led a potent Wawasee (15-11) offense with two triples, three runs scored and an RBI. Grant Brooks also had a triple and four runs driven in, and both Lucas Ringler and Adam Beer scored three runs.
Ty Brooks and Brady Russell combined to twirl the shutout, the two only allowing three Eagle hits in the five-inning contest.
NorthWood Baseball 8, South Bend St. Joe 7
For the second time in as many games, NorthWood (18-6) walked off to an 8-7 win on its home field.
Logan Balasa tripled in the tying run in the seventh, and after a walk, Trevor Klotz singled in Balasa for the game winner.
Jacob Raasch, who started the seventh with a single, had two hits and two runs scored, Isaiah Yoder had three hits and a run scored, and Balasa had two total RBI.
Raasch and Wriley Symons combined on the win, Symons getting the win after four innings of relief, allowing five hits and two earned runs.
