Carol Jean Flohr
Carol Jean Flohr, 89, rural Akron, died at 9:26 a.m. Saturday, May 8, 2021, at her residence.
She was born on July 24, 1931, in Rochester, to Estel R. and Elma (Dassy) Rogers.
Carol married Ted W. Flohr Sept. 26, 1948, in Rochester. She lived most of her life in the Akron area.
Carol spent most of her life being a housewife. Her special interests were sewing, embroidery and crocheting. While living in town, her family had a vegetable stand in front of their house on Rochester Street during the 1960’s. She enjoyed having cats and dogs as her favorite pets. While living in the country, she and Ted sold peat moss and had a large blueberry patch that they owned near their home for approximately 40 years. Outside the home, she worked at General Tire in Wabash, Indiana for a few years.
Surviving Carol are her son: Mark DeWayne Flohr of Springfield, Va.; daughter: Patsy Waymire (fiancé Paul Bahney) of Akron; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and one on the way.
Preceding Carol in death are her parents; husband, Theodore Wayne Flohr, deceased Aug. 11, 2018); son, Thomas Flohr; three brothers: Eldon, Richard and Charles Rogers; two sisters: Joyce Ege and Katherine Price.
A public graveside service will be held at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, May 12, at the Akron IOOF Cemetery in Akron, with Wayne Balmer officiating.
