WARSAW — Art was the main focus of downtown Warsaw’s First Friday Interactive Art event on Friday, May 7.
First Friday featured make and take-it art from several booths. Projects included spray art, origami folding, painting a pet rock and making a Mother’s Day card.
Nathan Underneath, owner of Moving Pictures Tattoo Cinema, simultaneously painted multiple canvases during First Friday by using flow art and other painting techniques.
Following the presentation, the painted canvases were sold via silent auction, with all funds going toward First Friday’s budget.
Edgewood Middle School students and volunteers also attended the event, alongside five toddlers demonstrating their GoBabyGo! vehicles. The students collaboratively worked with community mentors to customize vehicles for children who have limited or no independent mobility.
Debra Collier’s School of Dance also attended First Friday and performed multiple types of dances.
The May event was sponsored by the Dane and Mary Louise Miller Foundation, the City of Warsaw and Warsaw Community Development Corporation.
