Wawasee 3, Lakeland 2
Wawasee was convincing in its three court wins Friday against Lakeland.
Among the three courts only two games were given up, Tate Cowan and Abby Morehead winning via shutout over Laura Eicher and Amelia Trump at No. 1 doubles. Kenley Stewart and Allison Clark lost one game in the second set of a two dubs triumph over Carly Rasbaugh and Jeyda Brim. At one singles, Kiah Farrington lost just a second set game in putting away Elizabeth Jennings.
The other two courts went to Lakeland in identical match scores. Lilly Schackaw and Brooklynn Olinger both won 7-6, 6-3 against Casey Yankosky and Kaitlynn Jackson.
Wawasee won all five JV courts, losing just three games in the process.
John Glenn 5, Tippecanoe Valley 0
It was a tough night on the road for the Vikings, which fell to the Falcons in Walkerton.
Hannah Parson, Gigi Engstrand and Peyton Oldham all lost in straight sets in singles play while Kaitlin Neese and Mackenzie Costello also lost in straights in doubles. The two dubs team of Jada Hicks and Andie Schwenger lost in the third set after rallying to tie it in the second.
Talia Holder and Lydia Miller broke the Glenn win streak with a JV doubles win.
Mishawaka Marian 3, NorthWood 2
It was a singles sweep that led the Knights to a road win in Nappanee.
Marian claimed all three of the singles matchups, led by a one and love finish by Abby Weaver over Britton Jesse. Kathleen Hicks bettered Gabriella Umbower two and one and Elizabeth Rilee put away Ashlyn Feller four and three.
NorthWood’s doubles courts were timely in their wins, Paige Henschen and Kate Stillson getting a quick one and love victory over Mia Mencias and Emily Timervia, and at one doubles, Emery Porter and Amy Adams came through with a one and four victory against Avery Sharp and Maura Meyers.
NorthWood JV won 11 of the 12 courts contested.
