Warsaw Police Department Announces Promotions

WARSAW — The Warsaw Police Department announces the following promotions:
- Phillip M. Reed has been promoted to the rank of Sergeant. Reed has served the department since 2009; most recently serving as Corporal on third shift. He served as one of the department’s K9 handlers from 2013 to 2019. Reed is a graduate of Indiana University Fort Wayne where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. Prior to his law enforcement career, he spent seven years in the Indiana Air National Guard achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant (E-5).
- Justin D. Curtis has been promoted to the rank of Corporal. Curtis has served the department since 2012. He has served as the department’s animal control officer since 2014. Prior to serving the Warsaw Community, Curtis served seven years as a full-time officer with Syracuse Police Department and seven years as a reserve officer for Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office and Winona Lake Police Department. Prior to his law enforcement career, he spent four years in the Indiana National Guard achieving the rank of Corporal.
