CLAYPOOL — Echoes of the Past will have Spring Plow Days on Saturday, April 17.
The event will begin at 8:30 a.m. and run until approximately 1 p.m. or all the ground is plowed. Plowing will take place in the field located on SR 15 and the intersection of CR 550S at Parker Farms.
The club has done Plow Days for more than 20 years. Most fields today are completed using a no-till method, so the process of turning soil with a plow is a lost art.
“Participating in plow days brings back memories for me. I look forward to the smell of fresh plowed soil,” said Echoes President Thames Goon.
The club hopes to educate the public on the history of agriculture by hosting events like plow days. The field will be plowed with antique tractors, sounds that cannot be heard anywhere else.
The event is free and open to the public. Food will be available for purchase.
