The Valley kids had a great night both with field and running events, taking double victories on both the boys and girls side against Whitko and North Miami in a TRC three-way meet.
The boys walked away with a first in all field events except discus. Wade Melanson grabbed the win in shot with a throw of 47-7. Perkins took high jump with 6-2 jump followed by Erick Burke. Matthew Howes came a way with three first in the 4×800 relay, 1600 and 800. Sprinters did their job first and second in 100, 200 and 400 as well as 4×100 and 4×400 victories. Rex Kirchestien took top honors in the 100 and 200, as well as both relay teams.
The girls started finding their stride tonight. Sidney Wagner grabbed three first in both Pole Vault clearing 7-6 and High Jump at 4-6, and finish in first in the 400.
The girls grabbed one, two and three in the 200 with Ava Smith claiming the top stop followed by Molly Moriarty and Marissa McClean. The ladies cleaned up in discus, grabbing the top three spots, led by Chole Shepherd, Mallory Durkes and Abby Koch.
Chesnee Miller ran another strong night in distance with victories in the 1600 and 3200, as well as jumping to a first in long jump with a 14-1.
“After a week off for spring break it was a good meet to get back in the groove,” said head coach Jenny Moriarty.
Both boys and girls teams will play host to Manchester at 5 p.m. Thursday night.

Both the boys and girls Trojan track teams hosted Culver Academy on Tuesday evening, with the visiting Eagles took both sides of the ledger.
On the girls side, Triton found victories in the 300 hurdles by Annie Hill in 55.0 seconds, the 800 by Jocelynn Faulkner in 2:49 and in pole vault by Makenna May, who cleared 80-9.
For the boys, Trojan running winners included Parker Alford in the 110 hurdles in 22.7 seconds, Hunter McIntyre in the 400 in 59.4, Schuh in the 300 hurdles in 51.2. Anthony Schuh also took top honors in two field events, winning shot put with a throw of 41 feet and discus with a very strong 133.
