Triton Softball 10, Plymouth 7
Triton rallied to catch Plymouth Tuesday afternoon at Keyser Field.
Down 6-5 in the back-and-forth affair, Triton hung a five-spot in the bottom of the fourth to retake the lead and keep it. Lena Doll, Hannah Snyder, Madeline Doll and Taren Yates all had RBIs in the inning to help Triton collect its third win of the season.
Yates finished with three hits and three RBI and Snyder scored three runs for the Trojans (3-2).
Lena Doll pitched five innings of relief to get the win, striking out seven.
Kasi Harner had two hits and two RBI to pace the Pilgrims.
Columbia City Softball 19, Wawasee 1
The Eagles snowballed a lead in a runaway win in the Whitley County seat.
A four-run first turned into an 11-0 lead after two innings for the Eagles. City added three more runs before Wawasee plated its only tally of the contest in the fourth.
Laney Gross had the only Wawasee (0-4-1) RBI in the contest. Ari Garcia added a single for the Wawasee compliment.
Hayley Urban had three hits and three runs scored, Abby Pequignot added two doubles and four RBI, and Bethany Banks, Bailey Shidler and Brooke Lickey all homered for the Eagles.
East Noble Softball 13, Warsaw 3
A 4-2 East Noble lead turned into an 11-run lead after the Knights jumped on the run carousel in the fourth inning in Warsaw’s season opener in the Kosciusko County seat.
Carly Turner started the fourth with a two-run single, and Maliah Hampshire continued the hot Knight bats with a two-run homer. Hampshire later came up and brought in another run with a bases loaded walk. Turner and Hampshire combined to score five runs and total four hits.
Avery Sleeth had a solo homer for Warsaw (0-1) and both Makayla Holder and Natalya Holder singled and scored for the Tigers.
The East Noble JV won 24-6. Allison Gonzalez had three hits to lead the home side.
