CLAYPOOL —  A woman from Tippecanoe died in a single-vehicle accident Tuesday night, west of Claypool.

Amber L. Meyer, 30, Tippecanoe, was pronounced dead at the scene due to blunt force trauma. She was the sole occupant of a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt.

At 10:57 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, emergency crews responded to a single-vehicle accident on West CR 700S, east of South CR 600W, Claypool. According to the preliminary results of the ongoing investigation conducted by the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office Fatal Team, Meyer was traveling east, left the north side of the road and struck a NIPSCO utility pole.

Agencies assisting at the scene include Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office, Silver Lake Police Department, Burket Fire Department, Mentone EMS, Lutheran EMS and the Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office.

Parkview Samaritan Air Ambulance was initially called but later disregarded.
