Basel Hale — UPDATED
Basel Hale, 72, Pierceton, passed away at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at his home. He was born Feb. 21, 1949, in Breathitt Co., Ky. to Forest and Eva L. (Lovely) Hale.
He attended public schools in Kentucky and moved to Pierceton and Larwill area in the mid 1960s from Kentucky. He was married on March 31, 1970, in Pierceton, to Evalee Mullins who preceded him on April 29, 2015. He was a self-employed truck driver, computer technician, certified welder, and surgical instrument repairman.
He was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church in Pierceton.
He is survived by two sons: Basel Junior (Michele) Hale of Ozark, Mo.; and Forest James Hale of Pierceton; eight grandchildren: Kegan, Kameron, Aiden, Andrew, Kayla, Ashley, Samantha, and Sarah; two great-grandchildren, Aylah and Carter; sister, Cynthia Salyers of Argos.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, Roger Lee Hale, two sisters, Ruth Hale and Ruby Thomas, and two brothers, Sam Wierman and Willard Miller.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday, March 26, at Free United Baptist Church, 7035 S. SR 13, Pierceton. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday in the church with Pastor Etsie Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Pierceton. Owen Family Funeral Home, SR 13 and CR 500N, North Webster, is in charge of arrangements.
