Small Fire Spreads To Wood Pile Near Milford

Milford firefighters work to extinguish a small fire that spread into a large pile of wood at a home on CR 150E.
MILFORD — A resident burning scrap wood near a large wood pile around 4:55 p.m. Sunday near Milford, resulted in Milford Fire Department responding when the fire spread into the pile. The fire was at a residence on CR 150E, north of CR 1350N, east of Milford.
The initial call was a structure fire, however, no structure was involved. Firemen extinguished the fire and separated the large wood pieces to make sure the fire was out. A Ford truck bed, used as a trailer, was destroyed.
The National Weather Service issued a weather alert early Sunday morning stating breezy and very dry conditions would bring an increased risk in the spread of grass, brush and other field fires. The alert asked residents to consider delaying any burning to another day when conditions are less favorable for fire spread.
- Firefighters work to remove burning logs from the pile.
- Each log was checked and sprayed down to extinguish any fire.
