Gause Among All-HPC Basketball Picks

ELKHART – The Hoosier Plains Conference wrapped up its first year of winter sports existence in 2020-21, and were happy to issue its first roll call for All-HPC and Academic All-Conference for boys basketball.
Eleven boys basketball players were named to the All-Conference list. Among those was Lakeland Christian Academy’s Landon Gause, the lone Cougar to make the list.
Argos and Elkhart Christian led the list, both teams finishing 4-1 in the standings and tied for the conference championship. Argos had Michael Richard, Dylan Kindig and Jayce Morris named All-HPC while ECA had Matthew Elmerick, Noah Hunt and Bryce Schrock on the list.
Bethany Christian (3-2) had Beck Willems and Tyson Chupp, South Bend Career Academy (2-3) had Tyvon Henry and Trinity (1-4) had George Aranowski among the All-HPC selections.
For Academic All-Conference, awards were given to juniors and seniors with a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Earning academic honors were ECA’s Hunt, Matthew Burns, Beau Cox, Tony Maxwell, Josiah Simpson and Andrew Stevens; Trinity’s Gavin Cullinan, Henry Lee and Peter Loughran; Bethany’s Willems and Aaron Yeakey; Argos’ Richard and Caden Nifong; and LCA’s Hunter Rice.
