Cynthia Sue “Cindy” McNear, 62, Lagro, died at 4:10 a.m., Sunday, March 14, 2021, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. She was born Sept. 23, 1958, in Huntington, to Robert “Bob” and Linda (Shaffer) Owen.

Cindy was a 1977 graduate of Northfield High School. She was the Lagro Troop 454 Boy Scout leader from 2002-2004. Cindy enjoyed collecting coins and playing video games on the computer.

She is survived by two children: Michael McNear II of Peru; and Shannon (Walter) Orpurt of Kokomo; two grandchildren,:Abby Orpurt and Gage Orpurt, both of Kokomo, her mother, Linda (Shaffer) Owen of Kokomo, and her sister, Martha “Marty” (David) Clark of Columbia City. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert “Bob” Owen, and her sister, Dorothy Owen.

There will be no services. Arrangements by Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Wabash.
