Rosemary “Rosie” K. Snyder, 72, passed away March 8, 2021.
She was born March 7, 1949, to Gordon and Algia (Bender) Miller in Warsaw. As a lifetime resident of Marshall County, Rosie spent her childhood on her parent’s farm where she fell in love with animals, especially horses. In 1967, she graduated from Triton High School. After high school, she attended beauty school to become a cosmetologist.
While working and raising children, Rosie earned an Associate degree from Ancilla College and continued on to a Bachelor of General Studies from Indiana University South Bend. She loved to learn and help students at Plymouth High School. Rosie worked as a teacher’s aide for Plymouth Community School Corporation for 29 years and would have continued if her health allowed it.
On July 16, 1994, she married Stewart Snyder, who survives. Rosie and Stew had many adventures with their blended family of eight children in total. Their pop-up camper took the family on many camping trips all over the Midwest, Minnesota, Florida, and Colorado. Closer to home, they enjoyed camping with friends and family at Indiana State Parks, especially Potato Creek State Park. When camping, Rosie made sure to include time for kayaking or biking and always ended the evening with s’mores if the grandchildren were along.
As an avid reader, she always had a book close by or in her hand. She appreciated crafting in all forms of sewing and painting. Rosie was a gifted ceramics painter.
Rosie loved the Marshall County 4-H and was the Pygmy Goat superintendent for many years.
She enjoyed swimming at Fitness Forum, where she served in the Playhouse and helped with office activities.
Besides her enjoyment of her hobbies and adventures, Rosie loved Jesus even more. She spent hours studying the Bible and in worship. Even during treatments and hospitalizations, she shared the Gospel with those caring for her. It was her greatest wish that she would reflect Jesus in her actions and words. She encouraged others with the writings from Corinthians, “For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. (2 Corinthians 4:17-18 NIV) She was a member of Crossroads Church.
Her greatest joy in life was her children, who survive: Amy Stone, Tracie (Tom) Miles, Jonathan (Wendy) Stone, Joel Stone; Joshua Snyder, Sarah (Andy) Perschbacher, Aaron (Danielle) Snyder, and Rachel Snyder. She desired nothing more than to spend time with her grandchildren who survive; Alyssa Stockberger, Hannah and Lillie Miles, Victoria and Miles Perschbacher, Jude Parish, and Landon Snyder. Rosie is also survived by sisters; Donna Clark and Gloria Miller of Warsaw, along with many nephews and niece that she loved dearly.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and infant daughter.
A Celebration of Rosemary “Rosie” K. Snyder’s Life will be at 6 p.m. on Monday, March 15, at Crossroads Church, 1650 N. Oak Drive, Plymouth. Friends are welcome prior from 3-6 p.m. in the church.
