INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association (ICGSA) announced its selections for Academic All-State for 2020-21 gymnastics.

A total of 18 athletes were tabbed for the academic honor, which requires the athlete be a senior carrying at least a 3.5 GPA or equivalent. The athlete must also score a minimum 1110 SAT/24 ACT test score and compete in at least 50 percent of the sport’s contests.

A pair from Elkhart were named on the Academic All-State First Team in Mia Echartea and Meleena Strukel. The two were chosen among 14 total for All-State. Angola’s Emma Schoenherr was named Honorable Mention, a list of just four seniors.
