Lancers Set School Record At Day 1 Of NAIAs

YANKTON, S.D. – Grace’s track and field team made its mark on the first day of the NAIA Indoor National Championships. The Lancers set a school record and had multiple PRs as the women began competition.
The 4×800-meter relay team set a school record with a time of 9:42.92. Kaitlyn Mack, Heather Plastow, Makenzie Adams and Elizabeth Moore placed 12th in the field.
The 4×400 squad finished 13th. Nordia Campbell, Ashley Stoltzfus, Gracious O’Connor and Julia Malson ran a time of 4:04.70.
Campbell produced a PR of 25.49 seconds in the 200, finishing 11th in the preliminaries.
Heather Plastow posted a mile time of 5:10.78 in the prelims, earning a spot in Friday’s final.
“We had a solid first day with a school record and some PRs. The men take to the track on Thursday, so we’ll try to keep the momentum going,” said Grace head coach Jeff Raymond.
