CULVER – To no one’s surprise, Triton moved on in the Class 1-A sectional at Culver.
The Triton Trojans raced out to a 21-9 lead in the first quarter over the West Central Trojans and never looked back in an 88-38 win at Culver. A 29-5 run in the third quarter was all she wrote as Triton (17-5) advance to the semi-finals and a third meeting with Oregon-Davis (8-11) Friday night.
Ashton Oviedo led Triton with 18 points, Cole Shively and Tyson Yates each had 11 points and Cole McKinney had eight points, seven rebounds and six assists.
Garrett Leman had 14 points and three rebounds for West Central (0-19).
In game one of the night, Argos (17-5) took care of business in disposing of LaCrosse (4-18), 61-40. The Dragons will advance to meet Culver (7-15) in Friday night’s game one, an approximate 6 p.m. start. Triton and O-D will follow.
