WARSAW — A fire started Thursday evening in the basement ceiling of a garage in Warsaw.
Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory responded to a call about 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, at 2606 Westside Drive.
“The wood supports to the concrete floor is what was on fire along with some insulation,” said WWFT Chief Michael Wilson.
“There was a slight collapse, but not of the concrete floor, but of the wood support system that the concrete set on,” he added.
It took five-10 minutes to get the fire under control. No firefighters were injured, said Wilson.
He said the fire seems to have been accidental, but the exact cause of it is not yet known.
Leesburg and Winona Lake firefighters and Lutheran EMS assisted WWFT.
