Pierceton Man Arrested After Threatening Deputy
Staff Report
WARSAW — A Pierceton man is facing an intimidation charge after he allegedly threatened a Kosciusko County sheriff’s deputy.
Justin J. Desomer, 49, 59 EMS B 6 B Lane, Pierceton, is facing one count of intimidation, a level 6 felony.
According to a probable cause affidavit, on Feb. 4, an Indiana State Trooper received a report of an intimidation investigation in Kosciusko County.
The trooper spoke with the deputy, who said he received a phone call from Desomer on Feb. 3. The deputy had known Desomer when he coached Desomer’s child in sports.
The deputy said he thinks Desomer has mental health issues and had heard Desomer had been espousing conspiracy theories recently.
The deputy said Desomer texted him unexpectedly on Dec. 17, 2020. Desomer said who he was and “You ready to talk yet?? Probably not huh? I hope you end up doing what is right … That begins with talking to me.”
The deputy said he never responded to the text message.
He said during the phone conversation Desomer identified himself and told the deputy he needs to do the right thing. The deputy responded he didn’t know what Desomer was talking about.
Desomer continued to repeat himself and said he has lived here 44 years. Desomer then said, “I thought you would do the right thing, but that must not be the case.”
The deputy said he again told Desomer he didn’t know what he was talking about. Desomer then said, “You need to watch yourself and your family.”
The deputy asked Desomer what he just said, and Desomer said that they are coming. Desomer then said, “Better watch your family,” and hung up.
The deputy said he was concerned Desomer would harm his family.
The deputy also got text messages from Desomer after the phone call. Desomer sounded desperate, said the deputy.
Desomer was booked at the Kosciusko County Jail on Feb. 10 on a $5,250 surety and cash bond.
