WARSAW — A home near Barbee Lake was destroyed in a fire on Thursday evening, Feb. 11.
Five fire departments responded to the fire at 39 EMS B61 J Lane, Warsaw. The home is owned by Jack Norris.
He and his stepson Troy Bradshaw made it out of the fire safely, said Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory Chief Mike Wilson. They tried to put it out themselves before exiting the building, he said.
The call for the fire went out at 6:27 p.m. and it took crews more than an hour to get it under control, said Wilson. The cause is potentially electrical.
He said the home and garage are a total loss.
Along with Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory, the other departments were Turkey Creek, Pierceton, Leesburg and North Webster. Also responding were Lutheran EMS, the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office and NIPSCO.
