Triton Boys 31, South Bend Trinity 30
Triton slowed down South Bend Trinity to win a tricky road game Tuesday night.
After allowing 14 points to the Titans in the first quarter, Triton clamped down to give up half that the next three quarters while while grabbing an eight-point edge going into the fourth.
Bruce Johnson led the Trojans (12-3) with 11 points and Tyson Yates had 10 points.
George Aranowski paced the Titans (7-8) with 10 points.
Chandler Westafer’s 15 points helped Triton to a 38-17 win over the Trinity JV squad.
Tippecanoe Valley Boys 45, Columbia City 42
Nolan Cumberland hit a game-winning three at the buzzer to lift the Vikings to the win Tuesday night on Rita Price Simpson Court.
Brendyn Stump sent a long pass to Dawson Perkins, who tipped it to Cumberland, who then heaved about a 24-foot three that went in at the buzzer for the instant classic.
The three capped a 16-4 Valley fourth quarter to punctuate the comeback. Cumberland led the winners (5-12) with 14 points and both Perkins and Paul Leasure finished with 13 points. Perkins added nine rebounds.
Andrew Hedrick led the Eagles (5-10) with 11 points.
Valley’s JV got back to their winning ways, 49-40. Dylan Neese led the Vikings with 16 points and Riley Shepherd had 12 points. Cooper Walls dished out six assists.
Wawasee Boys 47, Elkhart Christian 45
The host Warriors rallied to catch the Eagles in action Tuesday night at the Teepee.
Wawasee trailed by four, 32-28, entering the fourth quarter, but rallied in a big way, outscoring ECA 19-13 in the final stanza. The Warriors (8-9) needed every one of Keaton Dukes’ team-leading 19 points and eight rebounds. Ethan Carey had 13 points and Kam Salazar added eight points.
ECA (7-9) had 13 points apiece from Noah Hunt and Matthew Elmerick.
Beau Cox’s 21 points moved the ECA JV past Wawasee 54-44. Jay Finlinson led Wawasee with 10 points.
West Noble Boys 54, NorthWood 50
An intrasectional matchup had the Chargers pull out the win on its home court.
Austin Cripe helped West Noble (8-8) come alive in the second half with 15 of his 23 points.
Cade Brenner led the Panthers (9-5) scored 20 of his 24 in the second half, 12 of that in the fourth quarter. Ian Raasch added 14 points in the losing effort.
