Gloria Mae Hobbs
Gloria Mae Hobbs, 88, Larwill, passed away Thursday, Feb. 4, 2021, at her home. Born April 22, 1932, in Whitley County, she was the daughter of Arlo Sheets and Mary (Hine) Beaver.
She graduated from Jefferson Center High School with the Class of 1950. Following graduation, Gloria got married and moved to Zanesville in 1950. She had been a homemaker and retired from Keebler in Bluffton. In 1995, she moved to North Manchester before moving in with her son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Emma in Larwill. Gloria was an avid IU basketball fan and enjoyed watching Turner Classic movies and the classic Westerns.
She is survived by her son, Gregory (Emma) Hobbs; daughter, Cynthia (Alan) Geiger; daughter, Rebecca Springer; son, Kim Hobbs; daughter, Michelle (Joe) Havlin; 11 grandchildren,17 great-grandchildren; and 21 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Donna Hinen; son, Randall Hobbs; and her children’s father, Robert Hobbs.
Visitation 1-4 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 7, at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Face masks are required for attendance. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with Funeral Celebrant Sharon Brockhaus officiating. Burial will take place at Haverstock Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be given in memory to Riley Hospital for Children.
