Dale ‘Steve’ Mudrack
Dale “Steve” Mudrack, 61, rural Larwill, died at 10:31 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2021, at his home. He had been in declining health.
He was born March 15, 1959, in Fort Wayne, a son of Jerry “Jack” and Betty Jane (Waikel) Mudrack. He grew up in the Arcola area and graduated from Carroll High School in 1978.
He married Marsha L. Stidham Dec. 21, 1985. They made their home in Topeka and then Lagrange. In 2015, they moved to rural Larwill.
For 22 years, he worked for Forest River in Millersburg.
Enjoying fishing, he regularly fished the area lakes and ventured into Canada on a salmon fishing trip. He liked to tinker with cars and watch car hobby programs. An accomplished woodworker, he made furniture for the home and continuously made home improvements. He is remembered for his vast knowledge of used items for sales that he would see during his area travels.
He attended Liberty Mills Church of the Brethren.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Marsha; his mother, Betty Jane Mudrack, Fort Wayne; three sons: Cory Caldwell; Jared M. (Rachelle) Mudrack, Ligonier; and Cody M. (Kristen) Mudrack, Elizabethton, Tenn.; two daughters: Michelle Dininny, Lagrange; and Ashley R. (DJ) Unger, LaFontaine; grandchildren, Haylee M. Unger, Adalyn P. Unger, Rylee L. Mudrack; and three brothers, Dan Mudrack, Ron (Deb) Mudrack and Don (Annette) Mudrack, all of Fort Wayne.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry “Jack” Mudrack and a sister, Bonnie Mudrack.
The funeral service is 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. Visitation is 5 p.m. until the service Friday at the funeral home.
