WARSAW — A South Whitley woman received a suspended sentence after dealing methamphetamine to an undercover officer with the NET43 Drug Task Force.
Ashley Marie Fields, 35, 9347 SR 14, South Whitley, was charged with dealing in methamphetamine, a level 5 felony. This is a lesser included offense of dealing methamphetamine, a level 2 felony. A methamphetamine possession charge was dismissed as part of a plea agreement.
Fields was sentenced in Kosciusko Circuit Court on Monday, Jan. 18.
Sometime during April 2019, the NET43 Drug Task Force made a controlled purchase of 29 grams of methamphetamine from Fields in Kosciusko County.
For methamphetamine dealing, Kosciusko Circuit Court Judge Michael Reed gave Fields a three-year suspended prison sentence. The first two years of the sentence must be served either in the Kosciusko County Jail or through Whitley County’s work release program. The last year of Fields’ three-year sentence was suspended on formal probation.
Fields must also pay $700 in restitution to NET43.
