Constance “Connie” Wagner
Constance “Connie” Wagner passed away at 12:56 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2021, at Mason Health and Rehabilitation Center in Warsaw, at the age of 86.
She was born on Feb. 13, 1934 in Marion County, to Catherine (Beeson) Kinzer and Raymond Kinzer. She was married in February of 1955 to Hobart Aaron Wagner, Jr. They raised four children and shared 34 years of marriage together before he passed away in March of 1989.
Connie was raised in Carmel, and when she married Hobart, they made their home at Tippy Lake. From there they moved to Oswego, then briefly to Etna Green and spent many years in Bourbon. She was a past member of Calvary Baptist Church in Oswego where she enjoyed cleaning the church for many years. She loved her family, children and especially being grandma to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Connie never ran out of love to give and she even loved Benji the dog. Connie was known for being a great cook, a real peace maker, loved the simple things in life and had a servant’s heart. In her 86 years of life, she was a rarity in that she never drove a car! She will forever be loved and dearly missed by her family and friends.
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter: Gail Anne Hunt, Bremerton, Wash.; three sons: John Lee (Charlesette) Wagner, Etna Green; Wesley Jay (Janette) Wagner,Bryan, Ohio; Ben Edward (Kim) Wagner, Warsaw; ten grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and her sister: Margaret Rose Unger, Noblesville. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Raymond Kinzer Jr., two sisters, Gloria Dausman and Patricia Ann Haskell, daughter-in-law, Glenda Wagner, grandson, Derek Wagner, and her great-granddaughter, Haley Wagner.
Visitation will be held from 11:30 – 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 7, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw. Connie’s life will be celebrated following visitation at 1 p.m. and officiated by Ken Locke. A graveside service will follow at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw.
