Dougherty Appointed To Scott Township Board
Staff Report
WARSAW – John Dougherty has been appointed to the Scott Township Advisory Board.
Dougherty fills the vacancy created after the death of Thomas Besson. The current four-year term concludes on Dec. 31, 2022.
Kosciusko County Republican Party Chairman Mike Ragan made the appointment Wednesday afternoon at the county justice building.
Ragan congratulated Dougherty and said he’s “confident that he will serve the citizens of Scott Township with courtesy and professionalism.”
Dougherty is the facility director for Wa-Nee Community Schools.
He is also a precinct committeeman who could have cast a vote in the caucus appointment had he not chosen to run.
One other person applied for the position, but she did not meet the qualifications for the position, Ragan said.
Ragan said the party also wishes to extend condolences to the Besson family.
