Bourbon Man Dies In Fulton County Vehicle Accident
Press Release
ROCHESTER — A man from Bourbon died after a two-vehicle accident in Fulton County on Wednesday, Dec. 9.
At approximately 9:18 a.m., officers from the Indiana State Police and the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Old US 31 and Fulton CR 450N.
A preliminary crash investigation by Senior Trooper Mike Meiser shows that Ty Lemler, 29, Bourbon, was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado, pulling a car on a flatbed trailer, south on Old US 31 while approaching Fulton CR 450N. Roberto Glemeau, 55, Powder Springs, Ga., was driving a 2016 Freightliner semi-tractor, pulling an empty box trailer west on Fulton CR 450N. For an undetermined reason, the semi-tractor failed to yield to traffic on Old US 31 and pulled into the path of the Silverado.
Lowell Lemler, 77, Bourbon, a passenger in the Silverado, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Ty Lemler was taken by ambulance to a Fort Wayne hospital, with unknown injuries.
This is an ongoing investigation. At this time neither the consumption of alcoholic beverages nor narcotics is suspected as having contributed to this crash. Neither occupant in the Silverado was wearing a seatbelt.
Meiser was assisted at the crash scene by the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department, Lutheran EMS, Rochester Fire Department, Senior Trooper Todd Trottier, Senior Trooper Jeremy Perez, Master Trooper Dave Caswell and ISP Sergeant Rick Brown.
