Foundation Provides Three Grants To YMCA In Warsaw
News Release
WARSAW – The Kosciusko Community YMCA was recently awarded 3 grants from the Kosciusko County Community Foundation, according to a news release.
The Y’s new E-Learning Day Camps received $6,000 in support. These day camps provide safe, values-based childcare during Warsaw Schools E-Learning days, as well as instructional assistance in completing E-learning assignments. Funding will be applied towards staffing, supplies, and equipment to enable students to continue learning at the highest possible level.
The KREMC Operation Round Up Fund gave $5,000 to provide financial assistance for children to participate in the Y’s youth sports, fitness, and swim programs.
Finally, $5,000 was granted for COVID relief for personal protection equipment and sanitation supplies necessary to maintain the safety of all members and guests.
Dr. Jim Swanson, CEO, said, “During this difficult year, the Foundation’s support of the Y has been incredibly helpful. We are grateful for their partnership and shared vision to better the lives of all Kosciusko County residents.”
Director of Operations, Stacy Thomas, added, “We take the safety of our employees, members, and guests very seriously. We provide PPE for all of our staff, have regular building cleaning and sanitation scheduled throughout the day, and do another deep cleaning each evening. The cost of PPE for over 250 staff and additional cleaning supplies really adds up quickly, so these funds are critical in helping us maintain a clean, safe environment for our staff and community.”
