Jeffery George Craig
Jeffery George Craig, 68, died peacefully in his home in Jackson, Calif., at 4:04 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 29, 2020. He was diagnosed with a glioblastoma brain tumor on Aug. 15, 2018. At that time doctors gave him three weeks to live. Through medical interventions, the support of his wife Janice, and his own will, he survived an additional two years.
Jeff was born on May 23, 1953, in Rochester, to William Perry and Thelma Irene Craig. He married on April 15, 1972, in Grand Rapids, Mich. to Janice Lee Simmons, she survives.
Jeff’s parting message was to “first be kind.” His last words were “I’m fine” a private joke in our family and the response that is given universally whenever we are asked if we need anything. He will be remembered for his kindness and generosity.
He is survived by his wife of forty-eight years Janice Craig, son John and wife Natalie, grandchildren Roam and Ridley Jeffery, and sister Phyl Olinger. Jeff was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Bill and Bob Craig.
We will have a small gathering on our family farm in Indiana in the spring to say our goodbyes.
