Home Appears To Be Total Loss In Late Night Leesburg Fire

LEESBURG — At approximately 10:53 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, the Leesburg Fire Department was called to a structure fire at 146 EMS T29 Lane, Leesburg. North Webster, Milford and Warsaw fire departments were called in to assist.
When firefighters arrived around 11 p.m., the single-story ranch style home appeared to be fully engulfed. The sole occupant of the home was able to escape unharmed and was the one to call regarding the fire. According to the Beacon mapping system, the home is owned by Dennis L. Hawkins.
According to Jared Haughee, Leesburg fire chief, the home appears to be a total loss. Firefighters had the fire extinguished around 2 a.m. Thursday morning.
The cause of the fire is currently undetermined and still under investigation.
