WARSAW — The Warsaw-Wayne Township Fire Protection Territory Board approved a 2021 maintenance agreement with Pro-Air Inc. for air tank maintenance during a brief meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 3.
Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory partners with Warsaw Police Department on the contract since both use air tanks for the dive team. Maintenance involves inspection of the departments’ tanks through air sampling. In total, there are three tanks, with one at WPD and one each at WWFT Stations 1 and 2.
Fire Chief Mike Wilson also provided a monthly fire activity report for the month of September. WWFT had 239 calls for service and assisted several other agencies with calls, including a double fatal vehicle accident in Silver Lake; a house fire in Winona Lake; and a grain bin rescue in Sidney.
For medical calls, Station 1 responded to 65; Station 2 responded to 70; and Station 3 responded to 19 calls for service.
The board’s next meeting is at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1.
