Coroner: Nesbitt Died From Undetected Health Problem, Says COVID Contributed To Death
News Release

WARSAW – While COVID-19 was a contributing factor, Kosciusko County Coroner has determined that the Grace College student, Bethany Nesbitt, who passed away last week on campus, died from an undetected health condition.
After a complete investigation and autopsy, the cause of death has been ruled natural due to a pulmonary embolus that had not been previously detected, said county coroner Tony Ciriello in a prepared statement.
While COVID did play a role in contributing to the death, it was not caused by COVID, Ciriello said.
The 20-year-old from Grand Ledge, Mich., had been in quarantine in a dorm room when she died Friday.
Family members confirmed earlier that she was attempting to recover symptoms consistent with COVID.
